This project will instruct you how to create a simple non-gaming unit in Studio.

Step 1: Project Setup

Begin by completing the following information on the home screen:

a. Project Name: AOBeats_Beginner

b. Select the folder where your project will be saved

c. Select Orientation: Portrait

Click Create Project

Step 2: Setting Up Assets & Scenes

Upload your assets in the Assets Panel by clicking the “Add Assets” button or by clicking and dragging your files into the panel. 

A message will appear asking if you would like to auto-create scenes. Click No to practice manually creating scenes.

Create and name your scenes according to the scene names on the storyboard.

Select the Endcard scene and click the Properties tab. Check off “End Scene” to ensure that this scene is recognized as the final scene in the project. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 3: SplashScreen

Select the SplashScreen scene in the scenes panel

a. Add the splashscreen.mp4 video to the canvas from the assets panel

b. In the Events & Actions panel, add a transition on video end to the scene “Chill Playlist”

Step 4: Chill Playlist

Select the scene “Chill Playlist” in the scenes panel

a. Add the video chillplaylist.mp4 to the canvas from the assets panel

b. Click the looping icon to make the scene loop

c. From the Elements tab, add a Gesture Area to the scene according to the image below

d. In the Properties panel, name the Gesture Element “Chill Song 1”

e. Click the Add Gesture to Area dropdown menu in the Properties panel and select “Tap” to add a tap command to the gesture

f. Add a transition to scene “Chill Song 1” in the Properties panel

Step 5: Chill Song 1

Select the scene “Chill Song 1” from the Scenes panel

a. Add the video Chill_1.mp4 to the canvas from the assets panel

b. Add the sound effect Chill_1.mp3 to the canvas from the assets panel

c. Set the sound effect to stop upon the scene’s exit by following the steps below

i. Go to the Add an Action drop down menu in the Events & Actions panel

ii. Select Stop Sound Effect

iii. Select Chill_1.mp3 from the Sound Effect drop down menu

iv. In the Events & Actions panel, locate the Stop Sound Effect action and toggle “On Exit”

d. Add a transition after the video ends to the End Card scene

e. Select the Elements tab and add a Gesture Area to the canvas over the Back button as shown in the image below

i. In the Properties panel, name this gesture “Chill Song 1 Back Button”

ii. Click the Add Gesture to Area dropdown menu in the Properties panel and select “Tap” to add a tap command to the gesture.

iii. Add a transition in the Properties panel to the scene “EndCard”

Step 6: End Card

Select the scene EndCard

a. From the Assets panel, add the video end_card_video.mp4 to the canvas

b. Click the looping icon to make the scene loop

Check the Path View to make sure your unit progresses correctly.

Congrats! You have now completed your second beginner sample project. Click the Preview icon to play through the unit on your desktop, or the connect icon to preview the unit on your device. Click Share to generate a link to share with your friends!
